Painting Season Again, Sort Of

 21 April 2022

Spring has sprung here in the southern triad. Milder temps means a return to painting the outside of the house, and Amy has gotten right to work.

All of the west facing areas are now painted!

Just up under the eaves are some small blocks. These are place holders for corbels found on most of the rest of the house. We don't have corbels for this addition because the roof on this bathroom addition had been built lower and without any architectural continuity. You might recall that we raised the roof up to match the existing roof, which also gave us room for the mechanicals in the attic space over the bathroom. So now we need some more corbels.

Here's where the new workshop gives us some dividends. I was able to start working on these over the weekend when it was raining.

After assembly, Amy painted these and they're ready to be installed. Two down, three more to go.

Last month we had some more trees taken down. These weren't looking too healthy, and you know, we just don't want another tree falling on the house.
